While living in Mexico City from 2006 - 2008, Eleanor Blake and I (as JamPak Productions) made two videos for friends back home.

Mexica Mix (2007): We were fascinated by the ubiquitous black markets selling pirated dvds on the streets of Mexico City.  The most prominent aspect of this culture is the sale of pirated popular movies.  But in a subculture VJs sell mix dvds of their favorite music videos, uniting and often overwhelming them with vivid displays of their video artistry, in which they represent themselves as the main character of the latest blockbuster.  MexicaMix is JamPak's contribution to this vibrant culture.  We assume our own VJ persona - Producciones JamPak - and present our favorite pirated music and non-music videos bought on the streets, combine it with on-location shorts edited to play like music videos, and shoot it through with a healthy dose of our own VJ promo spots.

Por Mexico (2006): Mexico City streets, home and tv: everything was fascinating.  Ellie and I represent our lives in Mexico through narrative on location, meditations on sights and sounds, and what tv we could get through our bunny ears.  A playful juxtaposition coheres the video and now appears as the origin of Yuxtapongo.
